When loading a paintbrush, dip it only about one-third to halfway into the paint. Avoid pushing the brush all the way up to the metal ferrule, as this can cause dripping and make cleanup more difficult.
Allow any excess paint to drip off for a moment, then gently tap both sides of the brush against the inside of the paint can or bucket. Do not scrape the brush along the rim, as this removes too much paint and reduces efficiency.
While painting, maintain a consistent wet edge and continue working from that point. Use long, even strokes for the best finish, and reload the brush whenever the paint begins to spread unevenly or loses coverage.
Pro Tip:
Larger and thicker brushes carry more paint and can cover surfaces faster. If you’re new to painting, it may be easier to start with a smaller brush. A thin angled sash brush is a practical option when learning to paint with precision.
